Timothy Cameron: Noises

American Dream

(from the album Never Mind The Hyperbolics)
Give us this day our daily bread,
And put the dream inside our heads,
And fill each other full of lead,
And keep our fixes fed,

Your propaganda everywhere,
Ensuring that you're unaware,
That's there's another world out there,
And you just can't compare,

Victims of the American Dream,
The almighty dollar and,
Right to bear arms, protect the regime,
Ignoring the squalor of,
Your inner cities' violent routines,

Violence on your movie screens,
Is entertainment so routine,
But if the human body's seen,
It's NC-17,

Don't you talk equality,
Unless you're trying to humour me,
Your record's there for all to see,
It's modern bigotry,

Victims of the American Dream,
The almighty dollar and,
Right to bear arms, protect the regime,
Ignoring the squalor of,
Your inner cities' violent routines,

M*Donald's, N*ke, and M*nsanto now have taken place,
Of Viet Nam and other national disgraces,

The SUV you cherish so,
Is there to let the neighbours know,
That Mother Nature's still your foe,
The ozone's gotta go!

Your soap opera mentality,
Your favourite famous families:
The Mansons and the Kennedys,
Your appetite for sleaze,

Victims of the American Dream,
The almighty dollar and,
Right to bear arms, protect the regime,
Ignoring the squalor of,
Your inner cities' crumbling themes.
